Day 11 - video

Hi y'all! Feeling great. Went for a nice long walk today with Jeff and the dogs. The weather is really warm and the sun feels so good on my face. I thought I'd shoot a video, since it's been one week since my last one.

I dropped by my ortho's office yesterday. He's out of town, but one of the assistants helped my by removing some wires poking my lips. Which is why my front lower teeth have sparkling new blue ligatures.

  3. Wow, you look like you just had your wisdom teeth done, not jaw surgery! And girl...you are rockin those "S's". Once my splint was out, it took me forever to say S's and T's without biting my tounge. So happy for you :)

  4. Thank you ladies!! It's good to read your comments. I do realize that I'm progressing well, but didn't realize just how grateful I should be. I'm so happy I didn't come out with a splint, considering I did have a three piece lefort. I'm also lucky I never had to deal with a lot of pain.

  6. I've been thinking more about what helped with my speech. First, I was out of town, so I was on the phone a lot with family members from as soon as I could mutter. I really talked a ton from the get go. Second, my surgeon was anti syringe and pro "slurping from a cup", which I was able to do successfully from morning of Day 2. It takes a lot of lip coordination to keep from spilling, so maybe that helped get them get in shape too? Also, my tongue is not an issue... Since my lower jaw was advanced 12mm, my tongue feels lost and tiny in my mouth!

  7. I'm jealous at your lack of swelling, I feel like I'm way more swollen that you even though I'm 6 days ahead! I wanted to go for my first walk this weekend, but unfortunately England is rainy and cold :(
