First class plane tickets? Check! (thank you mileage). Two and a half weeks off of work? Check! One bedroom suite at boutique, downtown hotel? Check! Picturesque, New England town in the middle of Fall? Check! Boyfriend? Check!
I am really excited for this trip... except for the fact of that I'll be having my face sawed in half. We arrive on Friday for my pre-op surgical appointment and my surgery is on Tuesday, so at least we have the weekend to enjoy it:)
The question is whether I'll be able to enjoy the biggest pumpkin festival of the year, happening 100 feet from my hotel, 4 days after my surgery.
I am SO jealous! I've always wanted to see New England in the fall. Even though you won't be able to eat all the delicious pumpkin foods, you could walk around and catch a whiff and pretend you are eating it. Close enough, right?
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to at least get out,walk around and smell all the pumpkin treats... maybe a nice pumpkin juice for my syringe;) If I really have my act together maybe even carve a braceface themed pumpkin the days leading up to my surgery to include in the festival!

ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty good, so it might help with the pumpkin cravings! They say walking around helps with healing so having the festival right there might be good motivation to get up and moving. Any idea how much longer you're going to have o kerp the braces or after surgery? I keep forgetting to ask either the orthodontist or the oral surgeon, but I'm hoping not too long, everything looks pretty good, aside from the impending surgery, lol.
Thanks Amy, the recipe looks great! I really am hoping I am motivated to get up and out. It will be more of a necessity b/c I'll be in a hotel and not at home (even though I plan to have a stocked hotel fridge). As far as braces after surger, my ortho says his motto is "as soon as you can open your mouth wide enough to have them removed," but I'm a SKEPTIC. My teeth have moved so slow throughout this whole process. I'm crossing my fingers for 4 months, but betting on 6. Wow, 10 days for you!!! Isn't it amazing how time speeds up as we get closer?

DeleteOh my goodness, only 40 more days! I'm so happy for you. Time stands still in the year(s) leading up to jaw surgery and you are finally on your way to the rest of your life. I look forward to following your post-op progress.
