Appointment-between-appointments

I had another one of my "appointment-between-appointments"... which I swear by. One of my lower central incisors likes to rotate and my OD has spent most of the time I've been in braces un-rotating it. Everything was looking good when I went in last week, so he didn't have to re-tie or power chain that tooth, it was left to sit with it's fellow teeth with just bracket and ligature. Well, a few days ago I noticed it starting to rotate again. I called the office and Dr. Hang told me to stop by. It was a great appointment yesterday (may 24th... this post is a little delayed). He was able to check in on other "projects" in my mouth and adjust them bc things weren't moving like he'd hoped. I really believe this appointment saved me a month of delays.

Or maybe I'm just thrilled I was able to go in bc last week one of the assistants convinced me to switch things up to gold ligs and they were horrifying!!! I'm back to baby blue... thank goodness.

I haven't seen a picture of my naked teeth in soooo long!
This is 9 months in braces.

  2. I seriously need to get on this appointments in between thing. Every 2 months doesn't feel like enough, especially when nothing changes in 2 months.
P.s. your bite looks great, looks like exactly what the surgeons want, I wish my ortho would get on that bandwagon.

  3. Hi Amanda, I'm looking for an ortho and I live in the southern california area. I need jaw surgery as well and I was wondering what you thought of Dr. Hang as your ortho? Also, what are his fees? I would really appreciate any info.

    Thanks,

    E

    1. Hi ferris572, Dr. Hang is THE BEST. I don't know how his rates compare with other orthodontists, but I do know that it is $$$. I'm not sure how his prices have changed since I started seeing him. He honored a rate from almost 2 years before I started treatment and I got a "friends and family" discount bc he works w/my dad and a bit more bc I paid in one lump sum rather than a payment plan. I'm guessing it may be around 12k. (This is one fee that includes everything - I think retainers at end of treatment too). At the very least, you should go see him for a consultation and see how his treatment plan falls in line with other orthodontists. Here's a link to another of Dr. Hang's blogging patients: http://www.thejawstory.org/ (she was an extreme case w/ major tmj issues)
Also, check out his website: http://www.facefocused.com/indexb.html

Good luck, let me know how it goes... also, feel free to email me: keropian at gmail.
