i was proud of my bloody sock after a run. |
ok, back on topic...
I made an un-scheduled trip to my ortho today (my next appt. is on Feb 1st). I made the mistake of biting into a very hard baguette and popped one of my brackets loose. He fixed it and added a few coils onto my lower teeth to add more space and keep some teeth from rotating.

I found some original Braceface photos and I wanted to share. Especially, since it looks like I am posing for a blog... my brother and I would also refer to these as catalog pictures. And, of course, I couldn't help but dork out and recreate the modern version, almost 25 years later...
May 1987 (11) vs. Jan 2012 (35)
I had bands around every single tooth... no brackets:( |
I also had really awesome bangs. |

Thanks for updating! I've been wondering how things were going on your end. Amanda, you are still as adorable as you were nearly 25 years ago! I LOVE those pics from back in the day...It sounds like life is really awesome for you right now. I'm happy for you, and wish you even bigger, better things in 2012!
ReplyDeleteI must add that I am VERY disappointed you didn't re-create your bangs from 1987...;-)
ReplyDeleteLooking great Amanda!!!
ReplyDeleteRunning is awesome. I started a few years ago and now during the summer I run about 4-6 time a week, 10K each run, you'll be amazed at how fast you'll progress. I am borderline vegan so I had to take a supplement in order to run but I noticed a huge different in my running when I started doing this. I take Vega in a shake almost everyday and its awesome stuff.
Congrats on all your amazing changes!!! Its crazy how much life can change along with the jaw surgery, and we haven't even had surgery yet! Looking forward to all the great stuff to come :D
Ha, thanks Cece. Yes, I should have gone for the bangs recreation. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terra. 10k, that's awesome! I hope to get there one day. I always considered myself to be the non-runner, so it feels extra great to actually be doing it.
Yay to all of us for making great steps to improve our lives!
You are so pretty! I had to make a double take when I read age 11 then age 35. I swear I thought u were like 22 or somthin!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks SN, you are so nice! Yes, I do look young. I was the girl who got the children's menu w/crayons until I was 18. And now with this metal mouth,I try to get student discounts wherever I can!
